1. Acceptance
By accessing or using ServerCalc (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. The Service is provided free of charge with no account required.
2. The Service
ServerCalc provides interactive calculators for estimating server power draw, heat output, capacity, and running cost across various platforms and workloads. All calculations run in your browser; no data is sent to a server.
3. License to use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for lawful purposes. You may:
- Use the calculators for personal, educational, or commercial planning.
- Share links to specific calculator pages.
- Cite the calculators in articles, presentations, or specifications (please link back).
You may not:
- Scrape, mirror, or rehost the calculators or their math without permission.
- Reverse-engineer, modify, or attempt to extract underlying data structures.
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or infringes others' rights.
4. No warranty, calculators are estimates
The Service is provided "AS IS" with no warranty of any kind. Calculators are estimation tools based on publicly available specifications and standard industry formulas. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose.
- Vendor specifications change. CPU and GPU TDPs are revised. Electricity tariffs and grid carbon intensity move constantly. Real power draw varies with BIOS profile, firmware, ambient temperature, and workload.
- Always verify critical numbers against current vendor documentation before purchasing, deploying, or making contractual commitments.
- See our Disclaimer for category-specific caveats.
5. Not professional advice
The Service is not a substitute for professional advice from a qualified electrical engineer, data center designer, mechanical engineer, or other expert. Decisions involving electrical safety, circuit and breaker sizing, cooling capacity, regulatory compliance, or critical infrastructure must be reviewed and signed off by a licensed professional.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall ServerCalc, its operator, or contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses) arising from your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility.
Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to USD $0 (zero), reflecting that the Service is provided free of charge.
7. Third-party links and ads
The Service may contain links to third-party sites (vendor documentation, related tools) and may display ads served by Google. We don't control those sites or ads and aren't responsible for their content, privacy practices, or accuracy.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, code, and calculator implementations, is the intellectual property of the operator. Trademarks referenced (Hikvision, AWS, Azure, Synology, etc.) belong to their respective owners. Using their names here is descriptive only and does not imply endorsement, partnership, or affiliation.
9. Privacy
Your use is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
11. Termination
We may suspend or remove the Service at any time without notice. You may stop using it at any time.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in that jurisdiction's courts.
